GTBuy shipping checklist: weight, packing and quote details

Prepare the information a shipping service needs, then read its quote against the packed parcel.

This is a checklist for requesting a quote. It does not supply a freight rate or a delivery promise. Route availability and item eligibility must be checked with the service handling your parcel.

Ask about eligibility before ordering

Provide the destination and exact item or source link. Ask whether the service accepts it and whether the intended route supports that type of parcel. Resolve a restriction before the item arrives at a warehouse.

Write down the packed parcel details

  • Actual weight from the scale.
  • Length, width and height after packing, with units.
  • Contents, quantities and any requested protective packaging.
  • Destination, route name and the date of the quote.

Ask how chargeable weight is calculated

Ask the service which actual or volumetric basis, divisor, rounding and minimum charges apply to your selected route. Do not copy a formula or price from another buyer without checking whether the same rule applies.

The Poland report records 7.55 kg actual and 9.6 kg volumetric weight after rehearsal packing. It demonstrates why the two numbers are worth recording; it does not set the rules for your parcel. See the actual-versus-volumetric comparison for the full context.

Read the inclusions

Ask aboutRecord the answer
PackingWhat materials or repacking services are included and which cost extra?
InsuranceWhat is covered, excluded, and required for a claim?
DiscountsWhat conditions apply, and is the quote shown before or after the discount?
Destination chargesWhat does the service collect and what may remain payable?
ValidityHow long is this quote valid and what could change it?

Use buyer reports for questions, not predictions

The UK winter parcel report includes a bulky order and tracking gaps. The Canada report includes a different parcel, destination and discount context. Neither is a current quote for your order.

Keep the records together

Save the selected listing and option, payment confirmation, relevant photos, packing request, quote, route terms and tracking reference. If a problem arises, contact the seller, agent or carrier responsible for that step. This directory cannot access your order.

Your checklist

  • Confirm the service accepts the item and destination.
  • Record packed weight and three parcel dimensions.
  • Ask about chargeable weight, packing fees, insurance and quote validity.
  • Keep the selected route terms, tracking reference and supporting records.

Questions about this topic

How much will shipping cost?

We do not have a live shipping quote. Request a current quote for your destination, item, route, packed weight and dimensions. Check which fees and optional services it includes.

Why can volumetric weight exceed actual weight?

Volumetric weight represents parcel space using the service’s dimensions-based calculation. A bulky parcel can produce a higher figure than the scale reading. Ask which divisor, rounding and chargeable-weight rules apply to your route.

Can Reddit delivery times predict my delivery?

An individual post describes one shipment, route and period. Discounts, packing, carrier handovers and delays can differ. Use the service’s current route information for planning; the buyer reports here are historical examples.

Who can help with a payment, return or missing parcel?

Contact the seller, agent or carrier responsible for that part of your order. Keep order references, payment records, photos, route terms and tracking details. This directory cannot access orders or resolve a claim.
